Some routes around Dallas-Fort Worth just seem prone to backups.  Any incident, major or minor, creates a backup and you don’t have a way to exit.

I-30 east of Dallas (also known as the East R.L. Thornton Freeway) is one of those routes.  But if you know there’s trouble ahead, you’ve got a few chances to avoid the problem.
