If you follow me on Twitter (@DougMagditch), you might have noticed on a recent Thursday night, it might have seemed like I had a pretty good night.
The secret is, I didn’t do any of those things.
When it said I was at Bob’s Steak & Chop House, I was sitting on my couch.
When I supposedly seeing that show at Second Thought Theatre, still on the couch.
And for the drinks at The Grapevine Bar, at that point I wasn’t awake anymore.
Here’s how it works: There’s this new program out called CouchCachet. When you check in at your home on FourSquare, you can pretend you were having a night out.
Maybe you want to uphold some sort of social status that you’ve tried to obtain.
The program will post for you from those places and check you in.
The whole idea was put together by a comedian. It’s kind of a way to say, “I don’t what to put the effort into a social life, I just want to pretend I have one.”
