Certainly by now you’ve seen the viral video of the hatchet-wielding homeless man? He had more of a message than just “smash, smash, smash.” The viral sensation is becoming an inspiration.
Before Kai explained how he smashed a guy, he had a message for anyone watching.
“No matter what you’ve done, you deserve respect. Even if you make mistakes, you lovable. It doesn’t matter your looks, skills, or age or size or anything, you’re worthwhile. No one can ever take that away from you,” he said to a reporter for KMPH.
He’s repeated it elsewhere. It even became a meme.

And as people connect to Kai, “you lovable” has become a sort of rallying cry.
“Do you have a last name? no, bro, I don’t have anything.
He may be homeless, but he prefers to be called “home-free”… spending his time playing a ukelele and surfing, apparently.
He’s not alone, there are blogs dedicated to the lifestyle, too. The whole idea? Life free, both literally and figuratively.
Maybe there’s something to it. I mean, he’s at least changed our opinion of hatchet-wielding homeless people.
