Update: Twitter is beefing up its security after the Associated Press sent out that bogus tweet yesterday. According to Wired.com, the social media site is apparently working on a two-step authentication process to add an extra layer of security to user’s accounts. No word when the authentication could be available, but Wired says Twitter has been testing the feature internally. By the way, the AP’s twitter accound is back up and running after it was temporarily suspended.
Someone reportedly hacked into the Associated Press’ Twitter account and posted a fake message saying, “BREAKING: Two explosions in the White House…and Barack Obama is injured.”
