Texas School Testing Overhaul

Texas lawmakers are at odds on how schools and students should be graded.  Members of the House have rejected the Senate’s re-do, which overhauls standardized tests and the accountability system.  The sticking-point appears to be over the tests high schoolers need to take in order to graduate.  Under the bill, students would only have to pass 5 instead of the current 15.  Negotiating teams plan to meet to hammer out any differences.
