 Oklahoma Casualties Reduced: Double-Counting Resulted in Mistake in Death Toll

(CNN)Out of the 51 deaths initially reported in Monday’s powerful tornado in central Oklahoma, 24 bodies have been transferred to the Oklahoma City Medical Examiner’s Office, the agency said Tuesday. An update from the medical examiner is expected at 11 a.m. ET.

A mile wide tornado with winds up to 200 mph tore through Oklahoma, killing over 50 people. The tornado ripped through neighborhoods and schools. Here are some of the reports and voices from the people who lived through the terror.
