The IRS is facing another spending fail. Turns out nearly 100 of the agency’s workers spent $493,000 dollars on porn, diet pills, romance novels, a popcorn machine, wine, and Nerf footballs. That’s according to a treasury department watchdog. All of this reportedly happened in 2010 and 2011. Now the IRS and other federal agencies do use government credit cards to buy items directly from vendors. But the way the credit cards were used this time is being investigated. Earlier this month, the inspector general released a report that detailed lavish spending at IRS conferences, among other things.
