Living On Minimum Wage: Randy’s Story

Randy Minimum wage

The fast food giant McDonald’s, teams up with Visa in attempt to teach their employees “Practical Money Skills”. Sounds helpful, until you actually see the sample of their monthly budget. The monetary breakdown of expenses is far from realistic. So we found a real person, living under real circumstances.

Superb post however I was wondering if you could
write a litte more on this topic? I’d be very grateful if you could elaborate a little bit further. Many thanks!

Well, I make over twice the minimum wage. At 52, I have truck payments, student loan payments, rent, utilities, gas, groceries…all the same expenses as everyone else. I don't have cable, I have basic internet and a pay as you go phone I bought 5 years ago for $30.00. I have no medical coverage and am a diabetic. I barely make it on what I have. I can't imagine trying to do it on minimum wage. I would be more sympathetic if the interviewee didn't have an iphone headset on. An IPHONE!? I can't afford one on my pay grade, how can they?
