Doctors say 80-percent of brain development happens in the first five years of life. Which is why pediatricians and researchers want to give caregivers the best information to raise our children.
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and The Children’s Learning Institute developed “The Texas Infant, Toddler and Three Year Old Early Learning Guidelines.” They are meant to help us understand what very young children should know and be able to do at different points in their development.
Childhood Development Guidelines
“Little Texans. Big Futures.” Includes guidance on what young children should know and be able to do at different points in their development. It also includes critical information to help parents and caregivers notice these milestones and respond with actions that support each child’s development.
