Bio

Intern Christian CollinsLast meal on death row:  Would have to either be beef salad (Thai dish), pasta, or a juicy, medium-cooked steak.

Favorite Viral Video:  ”Hide your kids, hide your wife!”

Favorite Saved by the Bell star:  Slater; he was just the cool guy — athletic, fun, and smooth with the ladies.

Favorite DFW late-night food:   IHOP is always a great choice after a night out on the town. Breakfast sampler, replace the sausage with more bacon, which we all know is the chocolate of meats.

Mavs vs. Cowboys?  Dallas Cowboys! Definitely reminds me of childhood watching them with my dad. We just need to get things together!

Johnny Depp Willy Wonka or Gene Wilder Willy Wonka?  Gene Wilder makes the better, believable Willy Wonka. Not to mention he has his own memes!

What do the snozberries taste like?  Snozberries of course!

Favorite CW33 show? Family Guy hands down, that show is ridiculous.

Chocolate or vanilla?  Chocolate is king, vanilla is outdated.

High five or fist bump? Fist bump, high fives usually turn out pretty awkward.

Food Trucks: yum or yuck?  Yum! It’s always good to try different things. The people working in them are usually pretty cool too.

Secret celebrity crush? It’s no secret, model Jessica Burciaga is gorgeous.

Fad you are embarrassed you got into?  Over-sized clothing. At the time everyone thought it was cool, but looking back at it, we looked terrible. I used to wear a 2x shirt and size 38 waist jean shorts. (jorts are awful) If the shirt didn’t cover my elbows or the shorts didn’t cover my knees I didn’t want them. I now wear a size medium shirt and a size 33 waist pants, my correct size!

Best DFW tradition?  Basically just the events of the city itself. I love going to games, concerts, events etc. There is always something new to discover in the DFW.

First thing you would do if you woke up a member of the opposite sex?  Tell them good morning.

Best superpower?   Flying. It would be awesome to just be able to fly to destinations. It would be fun and you would save a lot of money. I would also just fly around to clear my mind.

If you could be on a reality show, which one?  The Real World! I am actually trying out at their open casting call in Dallas for next season. Wish me luck!

13: Lucky or unlucky?   I personally don’t believe in luck, things either happen or they don’t. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Be ready.

Superstitions?   If you step on a crack, you break your mother’s back. Be careful, my friends.

Tell us your backstory:  I am 23 years old, and am actually half African-American and half Filipino. In my free-time I enjoy traveling, going to sporting events, concerts, trying new foods, and collecting shoes! I am guilty of being a pretty big sneaker head. I was born and raised in Abilene, Texas where I graduated from Abilene High in 2008. After graduation, I attended Cisco Junior College for a year, Angelo State University for a year, and I have been attending the University of Texas for 3 years now, set to graduate by the end of this year with a Bachelor’s in Converged Broadcast Media. I was originally a business major, but soon realized I was not a math person. But I did like to entertain people and be the one who knows everything before anyone else, and what better place to do that than radio or television! I then switched my major and everything has been great ever since. With my personality and work ethic, I was naturally drawn to becoming a radio or TV personality, whether it be reporting, anchoring, or even doing online work. I like to be adventurous, challenge myself, and expand my knowledge in any way possible. That attitude actually led me to become a radio host for KNTU at UNT, as well as a reporter, anchor, and even weather man at North Texas Television (NTTV) also at UNT. I then proceeded to get an internship with 97.9 the Beat (KBFB, Radio-One Dallas)and here at Nightcap on CW33. I hope to use my charisma, hard-work, and dedication to go as far as I can, continue to learn, and accomplish all of my goals in the professional world.  Follow me on Twitter @Christian_A_Collins.
